أعلنت شركة Humanware النيوزلندية أنها بصدد إطلاق جهاز Victor Reader Stream والذي يُعَد أصغر جهاز تشغيل كتب ناطقة من نوع دايزي. ويبلغ حجمه حجم كف اليد. كما أعلنت الشركة إطلاق برنامج Keysoft 7.50 والذي يعمل على أجهزة برايل نوت الشهيرة. ومن أهم المستجدات على ذلك الإصدار هو الدعم المتزايد للغات حيث يُتوقع أن يكون للغة العربية حظا منها.
ومن جهة أخرى أطلقت شركة Optelec الهولندية جهاز Alva BC640 وهو سطر إليكتروني يمتاز بمميزات عديدة من أهمها قدرته على استقبال قلم الهال بحيث يستطيع المستخدم النفاذ إلى أجهزة الحاسوب والأجهزة المحمولة بالبرايل والنطق معا دون سابق تهيئة أو إعداد أو تنصيب.
