Hal and Supernova screen readers offered by Nattiq Technologies sport new map files designed to allow blind users to access software packages originally intended for mainstream IT users. Map files for Visual Studio 2005 was developed for those users of Hal who intend to learn programming languages. Visual Basic, C++ and Java is only a few packages to mention.
After several weeks of waiting, new customers may now obtain their Hal programs. Due to various testing activities associated with the Arabic version, the latest release of Hal was held up to ensure its compliance with some expected Arabic requirements. The latest development on Hal included the addition of all online help screens in Arabic.
Ms. Najiba Alhusani of Dubai Immigration Department achieves a daily record of 1000 scanning and data entry per work day. The story was reported last week in the daily Emirates Today newspaper. Ms. Alhusani was trained on Arabic Hal and uses it to accomplish her daily workloads.
Thirteen Blind Jordanian young ladies are expected to pass the last part of the ICDL test before the end of June 2007 according to the Saudi Jordanian Institute for Blind Ladies in Jordan. The last part of the test is pending and is expected to be successfully completed by all 13 young ladies.
Nattiq's CEO, Auda Hazeem, completed a 5-day business trip to the occupied territories where he met various representatives of institutions serving blind Palestinians. Auda spent a considerable time of his trip in the Friends of the Blind Association in Ramallah, he also visited Bethlehem rehabilitation center in Bethlehem.
