هل من الممكن أن تتحقق الأحلام Wayfinder

من المتوقع أن يكتسب الكفيف مزيدا من الإستقلالية في التنقل بين الأماكن المختلفة بإنطلاق برنامج وايفايندر والذي من المتوقع أن يصبح متوفرا للكفيف العربي قريبا إن شاء الله بعد أن أعلنت شركة نيوانس المطورة لبرنامج التولكس عن جاهزيته للتعامل مع خرائط الوطن العربي. ويتعامل برنامج تولكس مع هذا البرنامج بكفائة عالية بحيث يستطيع الكفيف أن يتعرف على ما حوله من الأماكن وأن يتنقل من وإلى الأماكن التي تحظى بإهتمامه موفرا له تعليمات دقية وخطوة بخطوة.
ومن أهم مميزات البرنامج:
01. التعرف على الأماكن المحيطة والمجاور مثل تقاطع الطرق والمطاعم والمكتبات والمستشفيات والفنادق وجميع المناطق ذات الإهتمام حيث يوفر البرنامج خطوات الوصول إلى تلك المناطق وبأي إتجاه تقع. ويقوم البرنامج بترتيبها بطريقتين: الأولى بواسطة وضعها على خريطة والثانية بواسطة توفيرها في قائمة مرتبة حسب قربها من الكفيف.

02. خاصية (أين أنا). ويستطيع الكفيف الضغط على مفتاح لمعرفة موقعه حيث يتم الإعلان عن النقطة التي يوجد عليها الكفيف مثل إسم الشارع أو إسم المنطقة أو نقطة التقاطع التي هو عليها.

03. يوفر البرنامج المسافات أيضا بحيث يتعرف الكفيف عن بُعد الأماكن ذات الإهتمام لديه عنه.

04. الملايين من نقاط الإهتمام المختلفة مثل الجامعات والمدارس والمستشفيات والفنادق وغيرها.

ويطوع البرنامج نظام تيلي أطلس المعروف للحصول على خرائط الوطن العربي. ويحتاج الكفيف لخدمة الجي أر بي أس أو خدمة التواصل بالإنترنت لإستخدام البرنامج بالإضافة إلى برنامج تولكس وجهاز إستقبال الجي بي أس.
